Tee time text alerts

Tee Scout watches your chosen golf courses around the clock. When a tee time that matches your watch opens up, we can text you so you can book it before it's gone. SMS alerts are optional and always require your explicit consent.

Pounce was formerly Tee Scout; text alerts are still sent under the name Tee Scout.

How you opt in

Consent to SMS is collected inside the Tee Scout app. It is never automatic and is never a condition of using the service. To opt in:

1Create a Tee Scout account and open Account → Preferences.
2Enter your mobile number and verify it with the one-time code we text you.
3Check the consent box shown below, then turn on the SMS Alerts toggle. The toggle stays off until the box is checked, and the box is never checked for you.

New accounts are also offered the same opt-in once, right after creating their first watch: a screen titled How should we tell you? asks for a mobile number, shows the same unchecked consent box, and verifies the number with a one-time code. It can be declined with Email me instead or by closing it.

Message frequency

Varies. You receive a message only when a tee time matching one of your active watches opens. You control how many courses and dates you watch.

Rates

Message and data rates may apply, per your mobile carrier plan. Tee Scout does not charge for SMS alerts.

Stopping messages

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. You can also switch off SMS Alerts in Account settings.

Your privacy

Tee Scout does not sell your personal information. Mobile information and SMS consent are used only to deliver the tee-time alerts you request, and are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
